Cliff-Hanger

I coughed up blood and stumbled back, clutching at my chest. Blood spilled out of the new hole that now occupied my chest. I looked at my wife as tears welled up in my eyes, making my vision blurry. The breeze blew the hair out of my face, and now looking at her, and the gun she was holding up with a shaky hand, I felt remorse for my actions. I had cheated on her, but I do not think this is the type of punishment I deserve. I stumbled backwards slightly, being wary of the cliff face that was now behind me. This was it, I asked God, why? Why now? I didn't even mean to cheat on her, it just happened. Every single second of my life flashed before my eyes, and I realised I had not lived the life I wanted. Half of it was stuck in misery. I was only 28. I stumbled again, and my foot almost slipped. Blood continued to pour out of my chest, and into my hand where it started to dry from the breeze. I looked back up at my wife, and she drew the gun up to me again. I was a few inches away from the cliff's edge.Upon closer inspection, she was crying too. Suddenly, I heard another bang and felt a sharp pain in my right side. She had shot me again. I stumbled backwards, slipped, then fell.
